Canon: Detroit: Become Human
Canon Point: Returning to Jericho after the events in Capitol Park, with the assumption of Markus going peaceful route so far.
Background: Simon's Wiki
Because Detroit has various branching paths, the main route points I'm taking with Simon goes as follows:
-Markus and the others succeed in stealing a truckload of parts from the warehouse.
-Markus doesn't shoot the guy that sets off the alarm in Stratford Tower, leading to Simon getting injured. He's left behind on the roof with Markus' gun in hand.
-Connor doesn't find Simon on the roof, choosing to investigate the broadcast deviant in the kitchen instead.
-Simon makes it off the roof and returns to Jericho after Markus and the other androids mark Capitol Park with peaceful signs.
Personality:
If North and Josh represent the violent and peaceful sides of the android revolution, Simon can be described as the balance. Or more specifically, he's the one that mediates between North and Josh whenever their arguments start to become vicious. He's often effective because he's a calm individual where his opinion is 'highly respected.' Because of his status and the fact that's he been part of Jericho for a long time, Simon can be seen as the leader of the deviants before Markus comes along. He's also incredibly resourceful and careful, managing to make it back to Jericho after getting shot in the leg and being left alone in Stratford Tower.
However, although he can be described as the leader, Simon is not a terribly strong one despite his ability to mediate between others. He dislikes taking risks and he's afraid of humans locating Jericho, which is located in an abandoned freighter that only androids can supposedly find, so he often does nothing even when androids need help. This has led to many of the deviants in Jericho slowly dying out, because there are no parts or blue blood in the freighter that can repair them. Simon is aware of this, but he feels like this is the best they can do with their given situation. It's not that he doesn't care, it's far from it, but he's resigned to this fate... until Markus comes in.
When Markus appears and gives the plan to steal parts from a warehouse in Detroit Harbor, Simon, Josh, and North agree to it. This shows that while Simon doesn't like taking risks, it seems that he's willing to follow them if Markus is the one to suggest them. This becomes evident as the game progresses, where even though Simon will suggest Markus to back down or say that a plan is too dangerous, he will accept the risk and follow him if Markus decides to do it anyway. These instances also show his loyalty to Markus, seeing the new deviant as the true leader of Jericho and the one that has brought hope to not only them, but androids everywhere.
It's because of his loyalty and dedication to Markus that he's willing to sacrifice his life for him on a few instances. Even though Simon greatly fears death, he's more than willing to give up his own life to save Markus. He'll even shoot himself if it means that Jericho will be protected, which is what he does in a potential path if Connor finds him in Stratford Tower. So while fear of death may guide many of his actions, Simon will more often than not prove himself to be brave if it's someone that he deeply cares about or if Jericho is in danger. And eventually, he'll risk his life to bring equality to androids. Markus' dedication to that cause is what led to Simon's change, who before was less concerned with changing the status quo. Whether Markus chooses a peaceful or violent revolution, Simon will follow and offer the best advice that he can (although the path I'm taking with him is leaning towards peaceful).
Simon's stance on humans is a balance between North and Josh, where he doesn't trust them and believes that they'll never listen to androids, but he largely disapproves of human causalities. He even says that 'killing humans was not part of the plan' if Markus decides to shoot someone in Stratford Tower (of course this eventually changes if Markus decides to go with a violent revolution, but since I'm taking Simon from a more peaceful route, I'll be writing him with that same disapproval). However, despite this, he won't hesitate to shoot back in self-defense.
Perhaps because of Markus' influence, by the time that Stratford Tower ends, Simon believes that there's always a choice for people and androids. And while this version of Simon hasn't said this, it's possible to get him to say to Markus that there's 'always a choice' on the rooftop. It is a belief that he has at the very least still and shows how much he's grown despite only knowing Markus for a short amount of time.
Simon's past is shrouded in mystery, with the bonus extras stating that he hasn't told anyone in Jericho about his past. This shows that he doesn't like talking about himself, even to people that he trusts, either figuring that it's not important or he's just uncomfortable talking about it in general. What is known about Simon is that he's a PL600 model, meaning that his main function was to take care of households and watch over children. It's not shown if Simon is still kind to human children, but given his overall supportive and loyal nature, it's definitely possible that he still acts friendly around them, even if he distrusts humans in the end.
Overall, Simon is a relatively old android that greatly cares about the safety of his fellow people, but to the point that he initially didn't take risks to save them or free them. However, with Markus' influence, he's more willing to take on those risks and he has hope that things can eventually change, at least with Markus leading them. He's seen the hope that Markus has brought to others and he'll do anything to protect that hope, partly because he knows how important Markus is to the cause, but because Markus is important to him.
Abilities: Wiki on Androids. In particular, Simon is a PL600 model, which means that he takes care of household chores and overall maintenance of the house. He also watches over the children and basically acts as a domestic/babysitter android.
Alignment: Thras. A lot of decisions that Simon makes is due to the fear of Jericho and his people getting destroyed by humans. Often times, he suggests to Markus to leave when things are starting to look dangerous, even if he does take the initial risk to go with the plan. However, he can also be brave, and it shows through Simon's willingness to stay with Markus and the others to the end. He's also willing to sacrifice himself to save others, even if he's afraid of dying.
Other: Simon will still be carrying the gun that he received from Markus on the rooftop and he'll also be missing his LED that's normally on his head.
